Review For Movie Paris Manhattan
Siphons off bits of "Play It Again, Sam," "Hannah and Her Sisters" and "Manhattan Murder Mystery" in its underwhelming tale of a thirtysomething Parisian's search for Mr. Right.
Sheri Linden-Los Angeles Times

One supposes that if, by some unlikely convergence of circumstance, the mind that came up with this premise could also invest it with wit, the result would have seemed like genius. It does not.
John Anderson-Newsday

The premise of Paris-Manhattan is simple enough; unfortunately, so is everything else about writer-director Sophie Lellouche's debut feature film.
Dave McGinn-Globe and Mail

"Paris Manhattan" uses a character with a Woody Allen obsession as an excuse to pilfer words and ideas far beyond its ability to synthesize them.
Jeannette Catsoulis-New York Times

Lellouche, in making her homage to Allen, left out one of his essential qualities: bite. "Paris-Manhattan" drifts by and never leaves a single toothmark.
Farran Smith Nehme-New York Post

[A] shallow, witless but pretty enough French ode to Woody Allen, couched in a loose revision of 1972's Play It Again, Sam.
Aaron Hillis-Village Voice

First-time director Sophie Lellouche keeps this puff pastry-thin piece of romantic fluff as light and inconsequential as it needs to be.
Jim Schembri-3AW

As light and airy as a soufflé, but not without charm. Taglioni and Bruel are both convincing as the reluctant lovers who just might embrace the inevitable.
Ed Gibbs-Empire Magazine Australasia

The cinematic equivalent of a lite & easy meal
Andrew L. Urban-Urban Cinefile

The premise might be slight, but there's a sprinkling of magic in Lellouche's debut feature about a young woman obsessed by Woody Allen, as she traverses the bridges of her life, searching for the elusive pathway to happiness

In Paris, the pharmacist Alice has been an obsessed Woody Allen fan since she was fifteen and has seen all his movies and talks to him alone in her room. When she meets Pierre in a night-club, she finds that he loves jazz and she believes he is her prince charming. But when Pierre sees Alice's sister Hélène, they immediately fall in love with each other and marry each other. Years later, Alice is a spinster that administrates the pharmacy that belonged to her father and believes that movies can heal many diseases. However her father insistently tries to find a husband for her. When the alarm technician Victor meets Alice, she does not see any future relationship with him. But one day, Victor brings Alice to meet Woody Allen in Paris and the director gives an advice to Alice. [Written by Claudio Carvalho, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil]
